OUR MISSION

The Cohasset Pride Project’s mission is to make Cohasset a welcoming community through educating our community around LGBTQIA+ issues, increasing support for people in the LGTBQIA+ community, and raising funds for organizations that advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights.

The Progress Flag.

The traditional 6-stripe rainbow pride flag design was popularized by artist Gilbert Baker in 1978. When it was recreated in 2018 to include black and brown stripes, Daniel Quasar designed a new flag known as the “Progress” flag. It adds blue, pink, and white stripes to the black and brown stripes, to represent transgender and non-binary people of color, some of the most marginalized individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, and places them in a chevron shape, or arrow, on top of the traditional rainbow flag, representing progress. This is the flag we are proud to fly in Cohasset.
